Dynamic forms

"Dynamic forms" is the feature that lets you let you decide which information your customers are asked for: at checkout, in Account Connect, on their first login, etc. You manage every form from the Admin site, so you can add, remove or relabel fields without any development work.

Every dynamic form is based on a form type. The form type decides where the form appears on your shop and which fields you can add to it. Once you have chosen a form type, you build the form from these building blocks:

- Fields: the standard inputs available for that form type, such as First name, Email or Postcode.

- Label and placeholder: for each field, you set the label and placeholder text with Translation keys, so the form appears in your customer's language.

- Required: for some fields, you choose whether customers must fill them in. Others are always required because the shop needs them to work, such as an email address at checkout.

Identifier

Every dynamic form has an Identifier setting, whatever its form type. The identifier lets you use the same form type in more than one place, for example two different quotation forms on two different pages. It accepts spaces and symbols.

Permissions

To access the Dynamic forms feature, users are required to have "DynamicForms" role. Once permission is granted, the Dynamic forms will appear under the Management menu.
